Nine Mile Babies Joins the Jamrock Cruise
This October, history will be made at sea. For the very first time, children’s programming will join Damian Marley’s legendary Jamrock Reggae Cruise — and it will be led by Nine Mile Babies, the cultural children’s brand created by Princess Booker, niece of Bob Marley and granddaughter of Cedella Marley Booker.
The Jamrock Reggae Cruise is the world’s premier reggae festival at sea, attracting fans of Jamaican culture, reggae music, and the Marley family legacy from across the globe. Each year, it sails with an unmatched energy of music, unity, and heritage. And now, as it celebrates its 10th anniversary, the cruise will introduce something brand new: a dedicated Children’s Activity Morning designed to educate, inspire, and entertain the youngest cruisers.
🌴 A Space for the Next Generation
Parents sailing on the cruise can enjoy their own activities knowing that their children (aged 2–12) will be safely engaged in a programme filled with joy, creativity, and culture.
The Nine Mile Babies Children’s Activity Morning will feature:
📖 Caribbean-inspired storytelling from the beloved book Grandma What’s That?
🎨 Reggae-infused arts & crafts sessions
💃🏾 Singing, rhythm, and playful movement
🧸 Cultural toys and learning tools designed to build pride and identity
Led by Princess Booker herself, the programme combines fun with meaning — showing children that their heritage is something to be celebrated.
✨ A Full-Circle Moment
For Princess, this opportunity is deeply personal.
“This is a full-circle moment,” she shares. “Nine Mile Babies was created to help children see themselves in stories, toys, and learning tools. To bring that mission to the Jamrock Cruise — a space rooted in my family’s legacy — is deeply powerful.”
Nine Mile Babies was inspired by summers spent in Nine Mile, St. Ann, Jamaica — the birthplace of Cedella Marley-Booker and Bob Marley, and the resting place of the reggae legend. Those childhood experiences shaped Princess’s vision: to create books, toys, and activity kits that reflect Caribbean culture and give children everywhere the tools to grow up proud.
🌍 From Schools to Seas
The Children’s Morning isn’t just fun — it’s a signal that cultural education belongs everywhere. Whether in classrooms, at home, or now aboard a cruise ship, Nine Mile Babies is proving that children’s learning can be joyful, inclusive, and rooted in legacy.
With the Marley family story as its anchor, Nine Mile Babies is building a bridge between generations — honouring the past while inspiring the future.

Because when children see themselves in their stories, they don’t just learn.
They grow with pride, confidence, and rhythm in their hearts.
